Update regarding resumption of public Mass at St. Margaret’s Church – 16 July 2020
St. Margaret’s Parish Church reopened for Mass on Wednesday 15th July. Fr. Peter celebrated a special Mass of thanksgiving at 12 noon. Resuming public Mass is subject to various restrictions in order to reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission. The most significant change will be the limit on the number of attendees in order to ensure two metre physical distancing. It will therefore be necessary to book a place for your preferred Mass before attending. More details on how to do this are contained in this letter from Fr. Peter.
Sign-in will be required at the door, together with other measures that will be advised by the passkeepers, such as wearing a face covering (please bring your own), using hand gel etc.
Weekly Mass times, which will include an extra Sunday Mass in light of restrictions on numbers of attendees, will be as follows :-
- Saturday Vigil Mass – 5pm
- Sunday Mass – 10am
- Sunday Mass – 11am
Please refer to these times above which have been changed from the letter. The 11am Mass on Sunday will continue to be streamed live on our Facebook & YouTube channels - just click on the Facebook logo at the top righthand side of this page to join or to watch in playback.
Anyone who has been identified as needing to shield should not visit St. Margaret’s Church. Older and vulnerable parishioners should consider carefully whether or not to visit the church during this phase, as notwithstanding social distancing and hygiene safeguards, it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of virus transmission.
